You are a ZZP, not a ghost.
How to promote a company in the Netherlands?
You've started a company (ZZP) in the Netherlands. You have a van, tools, and enthusiasm. But your phone is silent, and the only jobs are "through connections" for low pay. Sound familiar?
The Netherlands is a dense market. To win a client who pays normal rates (and isn't looking for a "cheap Pole"), you need to stop being anonymous. Here's how: Level Up Strategy for your business.
LEVEL 1: Google My Business
This is the absolute basis and it is for free. If a Dutch person is looking for a painter in Utrecht, they type "Schilder Utrecht" into maps. If you're not there, you're giving money to the competition.
LEVEL 2: Own Database (WWW vs Facebook)
"I have a Facebook fan page, that's enough for me." This is the biggest lie that beginner entrepreneurs believe. See the difference:
You compete on price with hundreds of others.
Posts expire after 24 hours.
You are not building an expert image.
The client treats you like an "amateur".
Full control over your image.
Google Positioning (SEO).
A portfolio that sells.
Automation (forms, bookings).
LEVEL 3: Recommendation Marketing (Word-of-mouth advertising)
In the Netherlands, commands work great, but people are lazy. You have to make it easier for them. No one will dictate your phone number to their neighbor.
Here comes technology: Business cards with QR codes or NFC Keychains which I offer). You let the client bring their phone closer – they immediately get your number, website, and review form. This creates a "WOW" effect and makes clients more likely to recommend you.
LEVEL 4: Job Platforms (Werkspot)
Services like Werkspot are good to start with, but expensive. You pay for every contact (lead), and then you fight with 10 other companies for the lowest price.
My Pro Tip: Use Werkspot to get your first 5 jobs and reviews. Then invest in Local SEO your website. Your own traffic from Google is free and much better quality.
Stop playing on "Easy"
Build a professional online image and start earning like a Dutch company, not like a freelancer.
LEVEL 5: Social Media (Don't spam, show!)
Posting ads like "Cheap Renovations" on "Poles in the Netherlands" groups is a waste of time. There are other Poles there who are also looking for work, not for jobs.
What works? Instagram and TikTok. The Dutch love watching the process (satisfying videos). Show how you apply filler, how you wash windows, how you install a kitchen. You don't need to speak perfect Dutch - the visuals speak for themselves.
I integrate these social media materials directly into your website. This keeps the website "alive" and always features fresh projects.
LEVEL 6: Branding (Become a Brand, Not "The Guy from the Van")
Do you know why Dutch companies charge €65/h, and you're fighting for €35/h? Because image.
If you are sending an invoice in Word, you have an email at gmail.com And you don't have a logo – you look cheap. Investing in a cohesive image is the fastest way to raise your rates.

LEVEL 7: Google Ads (Paid Advertising)
Do you want clients "right now"? SEO works long-term, but Google Ads works immediately.
In the Netherlands, click-through rates (CPC) are high, but... the customer value is also huge. If you spend €100 on advertising and land a €2000 job – that's pure math.
With a well-set-up campaign and a professional website.
